Franklin Perkins is associate professor of philosophy atDePaulUniversity. He received his BA degree in English and Philosophy fromVanderbiltUniversityin May, 1992, and his PhD degree in Philosophy fromPennStateUniversityin May, 2000. Prof. Perkins specializes in Chinese philosophy and Leibniz. He has authored three books,Heaven and Earth are not Humane: The Problem of Evil in Classical Chinese Philosophy(forthcoming, Indiana University Press),Leibniz: A Guide for the Perplexed(Continuum Press, 2007),Leibniz andChina: A Commerce of Light (Cambridge University Press, 2004, 2008).
