Within the last hundred years, the School of Philosophy at Wuhan University has been, and continues to be, renowned for the strength of its faculty.Sincethe early 20th century, many famous philosophers such as Xiong Shili, Fang Dongmei, Hong Qian,Zhu Guangqian, Li Da, Jiang Tainji,Chen Xiuzhai, Xiao Jiefu, Tao Deling, Liu Gangji, and Yang Zutaotaught at the university, and, at present day, the school boasts one of the largest philosophy faculties in the world comprising92full-time academic staff, including39Professors,41Associate Professors and12Assistant Professors/Lecturers.The School of Philosophy hastwo Distinguished National Teachers;fourDistinguished Professors of the Yangtze River;one National Youth Scholar;two Scholars of the National "10000 People Plan";elevenOutstanding Early Career Lecturers of the New Century as recognized by the Ministry of Education.
